Cowboy Wrestling Announces Ballpark Against Michigan Fight Set for February

STILL WATER – The Oklahoma State Cowboy wrestling program in partnership with REV Entertainment has announced that the Cowboys will return to Bout at Ballpark presented by Kubota for the second straight year to face Michigan on February 3, 2023, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Last season, the Cowboys faced the Iowa Hawkeyes in the inaugural event. The event was a landmark performance, especially for Fix data who wrestled in two bouts, one for Team USA and one for Oklahoma State, becoming the first wrestler to represent his university and country on the same day. Fix won both matches beating Ecuador’s Guessepe Rea 10-0 in a freestyle bout before getting the better of third-placed Iowa’s Austin Desanto for the third time in his career with a 5-3 decision.

The event will feature a new format this year, with a wrestling mat placed on home plate. Floor seating will also be added for the event. Bout au Ballpark will mark the seventh meeting between the two programs which have not faced each other in a duel since 2004.

“We are thrilled that our program and our fans will experience Bout at the Ballpark for the second year in a row,” the OSU head coach said. John Smith said. “Globe Life Field has proven to be a first-class venue for wrestling, and we hope to build the atmosphere even more this year for our duel with a very competitive Michigan team.”

Tickets for Bout at the Ballpark will go on sale later this winter at globelifefield.com/bout.
