Cummins announces new 20 kW generator for commercial mobile applications

DE PERE, Wisconsin., October 7, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Today, Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced the new SD 20 diesel generator set for commercial mobile applications. The SD 20 is well suited for a variety of trailer and vehicle applications such as disaster relief, mobile medical services, mobile command centers, ambulances, catering trucks, utility crane trucks and many others.

This open-top generator set was designed to fit a narrow frame, measuring just over 28 “high, 26” wide and 58 “long. Relocation capabilities of battery terminals and fuel connections allow flexibility of integration into unique and customized installations The new SD 20 will offer standby power of 20 kW at 60 Hz. Built with a Kubota Tier 4 engine, the SD 20 complies with CSA B138-2, FCC standards 47CFR (Part 15 subpart B), ICES-002: 2013. It was designed for ease of maintenance and endurance, with right-hand service entry and minimum change intervals of 400 hours.
This model complements Cummins’ existing mobile business portfolio of gasoline, natural gas, propane and diesel generators. SD 20 units will begin shipping full production volumes this month.
