John Deere and SurePoint Ag create joint venture

John Deere has entered into a joint venture with SureFire Ag Systems, giving them access to select Deere technologies on a wide range of products.

SureFire Ag Systems and its subsidiary, SureFire Electronics, will operate under the new brands SurePoint Ag Systems and SurePoint Electronics in this joint venture.

“Growers are continually looking for opportunities to upgrade existing equipment with new technologies to improve productivity, durability and reduce costs,” said Miles Keaton, director of performance upgrades at John Deere. “We appreciate SurePoint’s focus on providing modern technology for legacy equipment with the customization needed to easily install useful solutions.”

SurePoint designs and manufactures liquid fertilizer application and spraying systems, as well as anhydrous injection and irrigation equipment. The company also builds custom kits to improve fertilizer application on planters. SurePoint works with all brands to provide growers with alternatives to planter fertilizer systems.

SurePoint was founded in 2007 as SureFire Ag Systems by Josh and Lisa Wolters, Blaine and Erin Ginther and Matt Wolters. In 2012, SureFire Electronics was formed to meet the need for electrical components to support precision. Together, the companies have more than 80 full-time employees.

“The SurePoint team remains committed to helping customers of all equipment brands and is excited to be able to work with more producers to adopt and use more advanced technologies,” said Josh Wolters, CEO of SurePoint Ag Systems. “The growth of this business continues to be important to us. We look forward to continued growth with a market leader.

SurePoint will retain its employees and sales channels and continue operations at its current location. Employees, customers and business partners should notice little change in day-to-day operations.
