“As more and more electric vehicles arrive, electricity recharging centers will be opened across the state. Kumar said his department would also set up a “transformer bank” to change faulty transformers. This bank will be used to replace damaged transformers in just 24 hours.
The minister, who also holds the portfolio of Kannada and Culture, said the tendency to apply for the Rajyotsava Prize should be discouraged so that the tradition of identifying winners across the state should begin.
Kumar also explained the plans to celebrate India’s Platinum Jubilee of Independence by informing the people of the state about the contribution of Karnataka, its villages and its people to the struggle for freedom.
