Walfred L. Josephson

Walfred L. Josephson, 90, of Cassadaga died Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Born August 8, 1932 in Dunkirk, son of the late Almet and the late Maxine MacCubbin Josephson.

He graduated in 1950 from Cassadaga Valley Central School.

A lifelong dairy farmer, he retired in 1995.

Walfred was a former board member of Agway, the Farm Bureau and the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk.

He loved John Deere tractors, repaired and maintained farm equipment, and participated in Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Shows.

Husband of 63 years to Renee R. Wood Josephson, whom he married November 7, 1959; father of Todd of Jamestown, and Julie Josephson and Susan (late Timothy) Leslie; grandfather of Jacob and Benjamin Leslie; Almet’s brother “Toot”(Connie), all of Cassadaga and the late Fredric, William and Dana Josephson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 29 at the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, 876 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Private burial at Cassadaga Cemetery.
